The days go by and you are not receiving any phone calls for the awaited job interview.

So what happens next?

The Truth is that Most People are

Making Big Mistakes

When writing their cover letters

What are the most common mistakes that people make?
  1. NOT doing their homework - that means Research on your company!
  2. NOT customizing each cover letter. Sending out a generic cover letter for all the companies is a big no-no!
  3. NOT including a cover letter at - especially if one is not required - BIG Mistake!

Here is how you can leverage these 3 mistakes into writing a hugely successful cover letter.

Trust me, most people do not do these 3 Tips...

1. First, do your homework on the company to which you are applying. Visit their website, read exactly what they are looking for on their add. If the listing does not contain who the exact hiring manager is, call the company and ask who is receiving the resumes for 'X' position.

This will go a long way - you want that resume and letter to land in the lap of the right person, especially if it is a large company that is hiring many positions!

2.  If you are applying to different companies, you will want to customize each cover letter with details from that specific company. What are they looking for in a candidate? You can use those same words contained in their posting to leverage yourself to an interview!

3. Write a cover letter for EVERY job application. If the hiring company does not require a cover letter, write one anyway. Trust me, you will already be one step ahead of the competition!

There is also ONE Secret that almost NOBODY does that will give you a huge advantage over the competition...

Write a Headline!

What is a headline, and why do I need one?

You see that centered, bold fact text above that reads "Write a Headline!"? That is a headline, and doing this while writing a cover letter for resume submission is incredibly powerful.

Here is another good example...

I am really excited for the opportunity to meet in person
to address my qualifications and how I can help
XYZ Company grow.
